Positive Response from Bolton Highway Authority

About 10 days ago, I wrote an open letter to Bolton’s Highway Authority, and emailed their general email address along with copies to a highway engineer that I had previously corresponded with on the matter, and to my local councillor.

I am please to say that I received a reply today from the highway engineer, which was very positive:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the above.

The road markings concerned were renewed by our maintenance contractor and obviously some cycle lanes have been put back as they were rather than to the latest guidelines. We will review the route and rectify the road markings as necessary.

Needless to say, I am very pleased with this prompt and excellent response and look forward to commuting with much reduced stress and anxiety in the future.
